ICC arbitration / dispute on share purchase agreement / oil blocks in Africa
A leading South African oil company hired our team to defend it in an LCIA arbitration in London concerning a share purchase agreement governed by English law for the acquisition of oil blocks in Ghana.
The purchaser had brought claims amounting to USD 40 million in respect of representations and warranties set out in the agreement. We secured three awards rejecting the vast majority of the purchaser's claims and ordering it to pay 75% of the arbitration costs.
